A Good Morning Walk at Nisbet Plantation

Join Tim & Tina Thuell for their GM (General Manager/ Good Morning) walk – usually Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 7 am. The charm of this particular Nevis hike is the authentic insight into island living. With the Thuells as your guides, learn the ins and outs of our resort’s surroundings and discover that here on Nevis, there is beauty in everything.

5-Mile Walk

The 5-mile loop begins with what is considered a mild walk and then rises up a gradual incline. This walk is mostly on concrete roads, but also be prepared for some muddy pastures.

A Good Morning Hike on Nevis

In addition to great exercise, this hike offers a different perspective on many aspects of the local lifestyle and culture. You’ll pass by a church, primary school, colorful homes and thriving vegetation.

And while Nevis is famous for its Green Vervet monkeys, you’ll quickly realize that many other animals are prevalent including cows, horses, chickens, goats and lambs. It’s always a fun surprise to see what wildlife are out and about during the morning walk.

Rise & Shine

With the early 7 am start, you’ll beat the heat and be back in time for your poolside breakfast. Although this is a moderate walk, comfortable athletic clothes and tennis shoes are recommended. It’s important to stay hydrated, and we’ll provide the bottled water.

The best part of this early morning walk is that is offers enough exercise to justify an entire day of limin’ it on the beach.

  1. Hello. Top of a Spring afternoon here in the Motor City. My lovely wife Ruthann and I are visiting next February. Does the General Manager walk require reservations?
Enjoy receiving the emails as they add to the anticipation of our trip. Thank you and good day

    1. Hi Ron,

We look forward to welcoming you in February for a relaxing vacation and are delighted to hear of your interest in the GM hike. No reservations are required — simply express interest to our team at the front desk, Tim or Tina. We typically meet at the Sugar Mill in front of the Great House at 7 am on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Please let us know if you have any questions.

      Warm wishes,
