Nisbet Plantation Remains Open After Hurricane Irma

Nisbet Plantation remains open and continues to welcome guests.

Although Nisbet Plantation endured strong winds and rain from Hurricane Irma, we survived the most powerful Atlantic hurricane in history and everyone is safe. The Great House and cottages remain in ideal condition, and Sea Breeze Beach Bar, the decking and beach received damage.

With the rain that fell during Hurricane Irma, followed by a string of sunny days, the Avenue of Palms is once again lush and green. The photo below was taken this afternoon (Tuesday, Sept. 12) and shows the delightful view from the Great House veranda. What a difference a week can make!

  1. Great news that you survived two hurricanes in one week!!!! Well done everybody and thanks for the updates. Can’t wait for our next visit.

  2. Dear Tim,
You and your staff have been in our thoughts over the past week.
It is good to hear that you have all come through unscathed an ordeal which must have been terrifying.
No doubt this hurricane will not deter you from carrying on the same level of 5* hospitality which you have delivered in the past.

  3. Although my husband and I were first time visitors to the Nisbet in June, it immediately became our stellar place to visit and my thoughts and concerns were there from the very first that we heard about the recent storms. It is so very reassuring to see the photo that you’ve posted and your spirit is so strong. We will certainly coming back as soon as we possibly can and you have indeed established a paradise there.

  4. Dear Tim,

Pleased to hear that Irma caused minimal damage and that everyone is safe and well.

Have seen that Maria is taking a similar path as Irma. Hopefully this and other named storms pass by without any trouble.

We’re heading out there in February and very much looking forward to meeting you.

    Keep safe and well

    Simon
