Nisbet Plantation is celebrating its 25th anniversary of ownership by renowned Caribbean hotelier David Dodwell who has invited every guest in 2015 to the year-long celebration.
A Storied Past
In 1988, hotelier David Dodwell drove up a little dusty driveway on Nevis and came upon a sleepy oceanfront inn for sale. Curiosity piqued, he began to venture about the property. After rounding the corner of the Great House (circa 1778), what he saw took his breath away – the now signature Avenue of the Palms. Nisbet Plantation reopened in May 1990 and remains the Caribbean’s only historic plantation inn on the beach.
Celebrate 25 Years
Dodwell’s commitment since taking ownership has resulted in lifelong staff, loyal guests and many a great story. And, in celebrating this milestone year, every guest to Nisbet Plantation in 2015 is invited to join in the daily Silver Jubilee celebration.
While you are celebrating with us this year tag your photos on social media, and share your “throwback” Nisbet Plantation vacation photos, by using the hashtag #Nisbet25.
Signature Rum Punch Cocktails
We are offering guests a free Rum Punch Cocktail daily beginning February 15. Come down to Sea Breeze Beach Bar at exactly 12:25 pm each day and say, “Cheers to 25 years” and you’ll receive one of Dan’s famous Rum Punch cocktails compliments of the house – the Great House, that is.
Twenty-five years ago, bartender Dan Perkins greeted our very first guests with a Rum Punch- now the signature drink of our intimate plantation inn. Take home a Rum Punch recipe card and keep the tradition alive.
Pack for a Purpose
In 1999, Nisbet Plantation made a long-term commitment to improve the lives of elementary school children on Nevis. Ever since, Nisbet and some of our amazing guests have helped fill the schools with books, computers and supplies to help the children of Nevis succeed.
Our goal in 2015 is to fill our local school’s library shelves with at least 25 children’s books per month.
Bring new or gently used books with you on your next Nevis vacation. Use free space in your luggage to pack story books, language/grammar and math (Grades K – 6). A little space can make a big impact. Click here for a list of needed items.
Cheers to 25 years. We hope to see you soon!
