Geneva Reed, founder of The Freddie Mae Leverston Leadership Foundation and author of the Chef’N It Up Simeon Style cookbook, recently visited Nisbet Plantation.

Far away from her work and responsibilities in the Chicago, Illinois area, Geneva discovered the recipe for some much-needed “R & R” in her life. She writes to us, “I miss Nisbet already. Today was my first day back to work and I was dreaming of the Avenue of Palms. I miss sitting by the pool, having tea and all of the great meals at Nisbet. What a wonderful and relaxing vacation, which was exactly what I needed.”
While on the island, Geneva also shared her recipes for success with the Nevis school children. She donated her books to the VOJN, our adopted Nevis school, on behalf of the Neal F. Simeon Career Academy of Culinary Arts. The Culinary Institute is supported by her foundation, which is committed to “making a difference one student at a time.”

Geneva also had the opportunity to meet and speak with Dr. Denzil Douglas, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, and meet the Premier of Nevis and the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda.
