The TriStar Nevis Triathlon will return once again to the island of Nevis at the end of this month. The week of sporting events begins with the 10th annual Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim, continues with several races and events for athletes of all fitness levels, and culminates with the TriStar111 Triathlon.

The main event, the TriStar111 Triathlon (#21 on our 101 Things to Do list), will be next Saturday, March 31. Some of the world’s top athletes will compete for a $10,000 prize. There will also be two other triathlon formats, the TriStar11.1 and TriStar33.3, which are ideal for those wanting to “try-a-tri” or in training.

Nisbet Plantation Beach Club is always a proud sponsor of this sporting event, This year, we’re hosting the official TriStar111 Pre-race Energy Party with a carb-filled dinner at the Great House. It’s sure to be a fun time!

With race week kicking off in just a few days, we’re starting to welcome athletes. The first athlete to arrive at Nisbet Plantation was Janine Herweijer, from Appledoorn, Netherlands.

Janine is a three-time champion of the Nevis Triathlon as well as a professional rider from The Netherlands. She races around the world and always looks forward to returning to Nevis and Nisbet Plantation.

Janine is already out training and re-acquainting herself with the course. Yesterday morning she joined the local riding club for a 6 a.m. ride.

We look forward to welcoming more triathletes to Nevis in the coming week, and to cheering on the race participants with guests!
