A lot “hop”pens when you celebrate Easter in the Caribbean. Holiday festivities lasted all weekend at Nisbet Plantation and throughout Nevis with local traditions and fun for the whole family.

Good Friday Kite Flying

The holiday kicked off with the island tradition of kite flying on Good Friday. The sky was dotted with colorful kites all around the island during the annual festival.

Easter Egg & Cookie Decorating

On Saturday, Chef Tony helped our younger guests decorate cookies and eggs at Coconuts as parents enjoyed a dip in the pool. After enjoying their sugary creations, they left their eggs to dry in anticipation of finding them once again Easter morning!

Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday morning, families gathered on the Avenue of the Palms for our annual Easter Egg Hunt! The children’s creations from the day before were scattered all over the grounds.

Crab Races

Celebrations continued Monday with Crab Races on the beach – a tradition that is a guest favorite and for a great cause! Numbers were painted on the backs of the crabs and guests placed bets on the winner.

After a bit of harmless fun, the crabs were released back into the wild. Proceeds benefited our adopted school – the Violet O. Jeffers Nicholls Primary School.

We hope to welcome you for next year’s festivities!
