Live in the Moment

Dianne was walking along the beach when she found inspiration in a washed-up blue rope, entangled in sea moss and driftwood. This discovery inspired a more natural color scheme that complements the surrounding beauty of Nevis and remains true to the charm of our plantation hotel. This more relaxing environment truly allows guests to better live in the moment.

  • The pendant-shaped chandelier shades, designed by Dianne and woven by Kalinago Tribe on Dominica, also in the West Indies, illuminate the bar at Sea Breeze. The ambient lighting sets the scene for our weekly Thursday night beach BBQ – a guest favorite.
  • The new concrete countertops mimic the natural textures of the sand with authentic pieces of sea glass in beautiful shades of Caribbean blue found along the beach.
  • The navy blue and turquoise seat cushions are classic Caribbean and extend the beautiful blue hues from the ocean and the pool.
  • In between Sea Breeze and Coconuts are new loungers for guests to enjoy ocean views.

Past, Present & Future

The new ambience adds to the spirit of celebration at Nisbet Plantation this year as we celebrate our Silver Jubilee- the 25th anniversary of ownership by Caribbean hotelier David Dodwell. Dianne was careful to keep her designs traditional as an ode to Nisbet’s rich history. The calm, soothing palette captures the relaxing atmosphere of Nisbet and Nevis. And, the bright accents she has peppered throughout give light to bright new beginnings.
