Meet: Marva Nisbett

If you’ve stayed at Nisbet Plantation, chances are you’ve enjoyed a meal or two at Coconuts and Sea Breeze. While the “breakfast ladies” and beach staff likely charmed you with their warm personalities, this pleasant dining experience actually begins with Marva Nisbett. Marva works behind the scenes in the kitchen to help prepare delectable Nevisian cuisine. 

A Talented Team Member

Marva is a line cook at Nisbet Plantation and has been working at our intimate resort since 2005. As one of eight children, Marva has the opportunity to work alongside her sister Karen, with whom she has a close relationship.

Marva has an impeccable work ethic, and was honored as the July Employee of the Month last summer.

Do What You Love, Love What You Do

While Marva plays softball and cricket in her free time, her true passion is cooking. Marva’s culinary talents also expand beyond the Avenue and into her home. She adds her own local flair to favorite dishes and enjoys cooking for her two children. Marva’s most treasured time of year is festive season, as she enjoys spending time with her family and of course, making holiday treats.

  1. My husband and I recently stayed at Nisbet Plantation. During our stay, we went on a fishing charter. I happened to catch a beautiful red snapper fish. Marva and her team prepared it as lunch for my husband and I. Including the special fish lunch, all meals at Coconuts and Sea Breeze were delicious. We are certainly missing Marva’s talents right about now!
