Nisbet Plantation Named 2019 Hotel of the Year
It is with tremendous gratitude to announce Nisbet Plantation Beach Club is named the Nevis Ministry of Tourism’s 2019 Hotel of the Year. Additionally, bartender extraordinaire Dan Perkins was presented with a Long Service Award for his tenure at Nisbet Plantation – 36 years and counting!
The awards were presented at the annual Nevis Tourism Industry Awards ceremony on May 25, 2019, an event designed to recognize and reward the achievement of hospitality staff, partners and supporters.
The dressy affair was held on the grounds of Government House at Bath Plain. Mr. John Hanley, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, spoke to 2019 being the Year of Festivals, a key component of the island experience where guests learn about the culture, heritage and authentic pulse of the destination.
First Lady Mrs. Sharon Brantley presented the island awards to the night’s honorees who represent the finest of the Nevis experience.
Celebrating 30 Years
For Nisbet Plantation, this year marks three decades of ownership by hotelier David Dodwell Sr. Receiving the 2019 Hotel of the Year Award is a welcomed acknowledgement of the proud hospitality offered by the ladies and gentlemen of Nisbet Plantation as they are affectionately known.
Long Service Award winner Dan Perkins can remember the early days of Nisbet Plantation as the world now knows it. Much to everyone’s delight, while the Avenue of the Palms, Great House, accommodations, grounds and the warm Nevisian hospitality remain timeless, the collection of stories continues to grow.
Nisbet Plantation continues to be honored and humbled by the support everyday of our talented staff and loyal guests. Here’s to many more years!
