One of our favorite bartenders, Dan Perkins, also creates beautiful ceramic pottery at a local pottery shop.

Dan, along with three other local potters, run the Newcastle Pottery Cooperative. It was built on government land by a grant from the Canadian government to support the arts and cottage industries in the Caribbean.

They regularly host the primary school children for experiential field trips as a way to give back to the community.

The local craftsmen are responsible for providing many of the decorations around the plantation, including the light fixtures in Coconuts, ashtrays, candleholders and many of our plant pots.

Best of all, the pottery shop is located across the street from the entrance to Nisbet Plantation. So the next time you are at Nisbet be sure to stop in for a visit and support the local arts. And say “Hello” to Dan, too!
