Ranch & Coast magazine, based in San Diego, California, discovered the journey to Nevis from the west coast of the US is well worth it.

In the April 2012 issue, Travel Editor Elizabeth Hansen describes Nevis as her “personal favorite … because it feels like a small town in an everyone-knows-everyone sort of way.”

According to Elizabeth, “the best place to stay on island” is Nisbet Plantation. During her visit, she got to know many of the staff members including Violet at breakfast.

Other highlights from her trip include dining at the other plantation inns, a rainforest hike with Reggie Douglas, touring the Botanical Gardens, snorkeling with Leeward Island Charters and delivering school supplies to our adopted school, the VOJN Primary School (#53 on our list of 101 Things to Do on St. Kitts and Nevis).

During her visit with the school children, Elizabeth also educated the students about her hometown with a San Diego pictorial calendar.
