This year at Nisbet Plantation, we celebrated our Silver Jubilee—the 25th anniversary of ownership by Caribbean hotelier David Dodwell. With a new furry friend, renovations and community involvement, our Silver Jubilee was certainly a year of much success. Below are some of our 2015 highlights.

1. Toasting to 25 Years

Every day at 12:25 p.m., we celebrated our Silver Jubilee with a Rum Punch. Guests said “Cheers to 25 years!” with Dan’s famous signature drink at Sea Breeze Beach Bar.

2. Adopting our Furry Friend

A Nevis puppy ventured onto property and made herself at home underneath the shade of the palm trees. Just as we welcome our guests, we welcomed the four-legged friend to the Nisbet family. In 2015, we officially adopted her and named her Lucy.

3. Conquering Culinary Challenges

As our intimate plantation hosted a vegan group for 10 days, our talented chefs conquered the culinary challenge to prepare an entire gourmet menu of vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options. From breakfast at Coconuts to dinner in the Great House, the group savored the innovation of our chefs’ Caribbean cuisine.

4. Receiving Top Recognition

From attaining Hospitality Assured Certification, being voted the St. Kitts and Nevis Leading Hotel, and landing a top 10 spot in the Caribbean by U.S. News & World Report and Condé Nast Traveler, our intimate resort was honored to receive such wonderful recognition this year.

5. Refreshing our Look

Visiting guests will find their favorite beachside experience refreshed with new fabrics, colors and even a new cabana-style lounge area. Our renovations and new ambiance contributed to the cheerful spirit this year and helped epitomize our special Caribbean setting.

6. Giving Back

In 2015, we renewed our commitment to fill local Nevis schools with children’s books and set a goal to raise at least 25 books each month. Thanks to the kindness of our guests, we also continued our partnership with Pack for a Purpose to supply the Nevis school children with necessary supplies.
